These are demonstrated by both Katlyn Lokay (U-15 Buffs Player) and Ryan Henkel (Dirctor of Coaching Junior Girls).

Please click on the skill you wish to view:

Inside Cut:  Make sure that you hook your toe up around the ball as you cut the ball back across your body.

Outside Cut:  Make sure that you hook your toe up around the ball to cut the ball back away in a chopping motion from a defender.

     

Sole of the Foot Turn:  Make sure to pull the ball back and receive it with the same foot in the other direction to maintain control.

Drag/Roll Over:  Roll your foot over the ball, step down next to it, and then take the ball forward with the other foot forward to attack.

     

Cryff:  Be sure to chop the ball behind the standing leg and then explode off in the other direction with the outside of the other foot.

Step Take:  Lunge next to the ball as though you are going to take the ball in that direction with one foot, and then take the ball in the other direction with the outside of the other foot.

      

Scissors:  Step around the ball with the outside of one foot, and then take the ball with the outside of the other foot in the opposite direction.

Counter to the Scissors:  Step around the ball with the outside of one foot, and then take the ball with a roll over with the other foot in the same direction.

      

Snake:  Fake as though you are taking the ball with the inside of your foot in one direction, and then in one smooth motion, cut the ball back across your body with the same foot.

Sir Mathews:  Drag the ball one direction and hop as though you are taking the ball with the inside of your foot, and then immediately take the ball with the outside of the same foot at a diagonal.

     

Counter to the Sir Mathews:  Drag the ball with the inside of your foot, and then perform the scissors starting with the same foot.

Rivilino or Step Over:  Step around the ball or over it with the inside of your foot, step next to the ball and then take it with the outside of the original foot.

     

Rivilino Cut:  Perform the rivilino and the spin on the step over foot back and cut the ball in the other direction with the other foot.

Pull Back Outside Static:  Pull the ball back with the sole of your foot at a diagonal across your body and then take the ball with the outside of the other foot in a V.  Repeat.

     

Pull Back Inside Static:  Pull the ball with the sole of the foot across your body at a diagonal and then shift your hips and take the ball with the inside of the other foot in a V.

Outside Inside, Outside Inside:  Take the ball with the outside of one foot and then cut it back in with the same foot.  Then repeat on the other side.  This is a linear movement.

     

Inside Inside Statically:  Take the ball away from your body at a diagonal with the inside of one foot and then cut it back across your body with the same foot.  Continue on the other side.

     

Henkel II:  Perform a roll over from one foot to the other in the air.
