This is the end of the fall season. The objective this past season was to play entertaining soccer and maintain our spot in the Premier 1 division. The boys did play some entertaining soccer throughout the season and they managed to stay in Premier 1. The team will take some time off and play a little indoor soccer, then we will start pre-season training late January. The team will participate in the Las Vegas Mayors Cup in preparation for the spring season.
February -
The team recently traveled to Las Vegas to participate in the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup in preparation of our Spring League season. This was our first event after the winter lay-off. The team played four games against very good competition.
Results of the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup
BC Force vs Cisco White Lightning (AZ) 1-1
This was our first game back after the winter lay-off. The first half, the layers had to get used to the speed of play, however in the second half the boys worked very hard to earn the tie on a goal by Ozeroff.
BC Force vs Delta Elite (Cal N) 1-2
In the second game of the day, the boys started out a little tentative. The passing game and positional play were off and the game was a little sloppy. Much better performance in the second half of a game that went up and down the field. BC Force goal came on a free kick by Xiong.
BC Force vs Vegas United (NV) 0-5
Although Vegas United is a very good team and went on to win the tournament going undefeated without allowing a goal, the performance of the BC Force boys was somewhat disappointing in this particuler game. It was a lesson learned and hopefully in the future, the boys will be able to compete better against competition like that.
BC Force vs Metro FC Rapids (OH) 0-2
BC Force created plenty of opportunities in this game to score, however, players were a little hurried around the goal. Metro FC took care of their chances and that was the difference in this game.
All in all, a good pre-season event in which the players were able to work on their game fitness and team play.
League Schedule Spring ’08
March 1 at 9:30 AM, BC Force at CO Storm Royal - Dove Valley #6 0-1
A well-played game from both sides. Storm had the better possession for most of the game, however, BC Force created several opportunities to tie this game up. The BC Force boys competed well in this game.
March 8 at 9:00 AM, BC Force vs Littleton Utd - Pleasant View #8 1-3
This was a tough loss for the BC Force boys. The quality of play was at times good. For sure, the team created enough chances to score more that the one goal by Shrestha. More composure around the goal is needed to score goals at this level.
March 15 at 12:00 PM, BC Force vs Corinthians - Pleasant View #8 3-0
It was good to get that first win under our belt. Some decent passing and combination play with timely goals by Machalek, Shrestha and Glastetter gave BC Force their much-needed first win. Good shut-out by goalkeeper Ebersole.
March 22 at 3:00 PM, BC Force at Arsenal - FCSC #10 5-1
A complete game by the BCF boys. Defensively, very solid. On offensive there was terrific passing, good ball movement and wonderful goals. One of the better games of the season. Goals by Shrestha, Huettel, Kronenberg and Nash.
May 14 at 6:30 PM, BC Force at Edge Select - Stenger #16 0-0
BCF controlled the ball very well and created numerous very good opportunities, however, the final touch was off in this game.
April 12 at 12:00 PM, BC Force at Pride Copa - Pride Complex #2 4-1
A cold and windy day in Colorado Springs did not prevent the team from getting a solid win. BCF came out against the wind on the turf field and managed to lead 2-0 at the half on goals by Kronenberg and Shrestha. With the wind in the back in the second half, the team added two more goals for a nice win.
April 19 at 1:00 PM, BC Force vs Pride Predators - Pleasant View #9 1-6
In this game, Pride was just too much on all aspects of the game. Technically, tactically and athletically it was total domination by a very good team.
April 26 at 10:00 AM, BC Force at CO Rush Nike - Addenbrooke Center 1-2
BCF went down early, then recovered and played some decent soccer. Down 0-1 at the half, BCF started the second half with a flurry of chances but could not connect. Instead, Rush went up 2-0 after a neat little flick off a free kick. Kronenberg got the goal to cut the lead to 2-1, but BCF could not get any closer.
May 8 at 6:00 PM, BC Force vs CO Storm North Copa - Pleasant View #9 0-2
A sloppy effort by the BCF boys. We’ll blame this on playing on a school night.....
May 10 at 10:00 AM, BC Force vs CO Fusion Mundial - Pleasant View #8 3-0
BCF scored all its goals in the first half against the wind.
State Cup Games
BC Force vs Corinthians 3-0
Two nice goals by Kronenberg and a great individual effort by Huettel gave BC Force their win in this year’s State Cup competition. BC Force started a little slowly after not having played in two weeks, but came out very strong in the second half and put the game away with a solid performance.
BC Force vs Pride Predators 0-3
The first half was very encouraging. BC Force was playing a very good game. Good possession play when possible. A couple of decent chances and some solid defensive play Although a defensive let down lead to Pride first half goal off a set play. The second half, Pride increased its pressure and proved to be a little better in all phases of the game. BC Force was unable to create any possession and had a difficult time getting out of their own half.
BC Force vs Colorado Rush Swoosh 2-0
Goals by Gerland and Shrestha gave BCF the win in this important State Cup game.
BC Force vs Real Colorado 1-1
It wasn’t pretty but BCF did enough to get the result to get them to the State Cup quarter finals. 0-1 down at the half, BCF fought hard to get the goal to earn them the points.
BC Force vs Storm Royal - Quarters 0-3
This was the team’s first experience reaching the State Cup quarters and it showed. Storm, playing with a lot of intensity, went up early 2-0. The BCF boys did not adjust quickly enough to the pressure and intensity of the match. It was 0-3 at the half. In the second half, BCF played itself better into the game but could not get any closer. This was a good learning experience which should help the team down the road.
