Season Updates
The team participated in the SportSource Jr/Sr Showcase in Dallas, TX the weekend of December 1 and 2.

Saturday December 1 at 8:00 AM

BC Force Red vs Lonestars 91B Red South     0-1

For most of our players this was the first meaningful game in over a month since the end of the high school season. Players definitely were rusty and it showed with errant passes and inconsistent touches.

Saturday December 1 at 12:45 PM

BC Force Red vs FC Dallas Blue     3-4

Goals: Pocalyko (assist - Chait), Hinkelman (assist - Wheeler), Brandl

A better performance than the first game. Ball circulation was more consistent and several good opportunities were created.

Sunday December 2 at 9:35 AM

BC Force Red vs North Texas Strikers 91     0-5

This was a competitive game until 10 minutes into the second half at which point we gave up the second goal. After that the lack of game fitness became prevalent.

Analysis of the three games played:

Level of competition was very good. The fields were in good shape. The team’s lay-off after the completion of the high school season showed up in the following areas: Technically we were unable to play quickly  to get out of pressure. Physically we are not as sharp as we will be later in our season. Mentally we had a difficult time adjusting to the speed of play. We were definitely in pre-season mode.

League Schedule - Spring ’08

Saturday March 1 at 3:00 PM, BC Force at CO Edge Select - Stenger #15     1-2

Edge played very hard and scored its goals off a corner kick and a penalty kick. BC Force had the majority of the possession and created several good opportunities to earn the tie. Stellar goalkeeping by the Edge keeper and some unfortunate crossbars stood in the way of a better result. BC Force goal by Hinkelman.

Saturday March 8 at 3:00 PM, BC Force vs Pikes Peak Nike - Pleasant View #6     4-1

BC Force played a very strong first half. Good ball movement and positional play allowed BCF to dominate play and get goals by Brandl and Trevino. A combination of an energized Rush PP Nike and a sloppy BC Force made for a difficult second half, however, two timely goals by Brandl provided security for the BC Force.

Saturday March 15 at 9:00 AM, BC Force vs Real CO National (17) - Pleasant View #6     1-1

BC Force created some early chances, however, those chances did not produce any goals. Real was very organized defensively and battled hard. Deep into the second half, Pocalyko got the goal to give BC Force the lead. BC Force was unable to hold onto that lead when Real got the equalizer shortly thereafter.

Saturday March 22 at 4:30 PM, BC Force at Real CO National (16) - Heritage Turf     1-1

This game was played on Wednesday March 20th as our final preparation for San Diego’s Nomads tournament. This was not a good performance by the team. An uninspired first half lead to a goal for Real. In the second half, BC Force was a little bit more inspired, however, technical and tactical mistakes did not help the team’s cause. Fortunately, a late goal by Pocalyko salvaged at least a tie.

Saturday March 29 at 11:00 AM, BC Force at CO Storm North - NW Open Spaces #2     1-1

BCF gained an early lead on a goal by Brandl and looked to have complete control of the game. A mental lapse produced the Broomfield goal and BCF was unable to regain control of  the game.

Sunday March 30 at 11:00 AM, BC Force vs Real CO Athletico - Pleasant View #6     7-0

This game was played on Thursday March 13th at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. BC Force was clicking on all cylinders. Crisp passes, good ball movement and intelligent positional play allowed BC Force to earn a relative easy victory. Goals by Brandl (3), Pocalyko, Trevino, Chait and Hirsch.

Saturday April 12 at 3:00 PM, BC Force at CO Storm White - Dove Valley #4     4-1

This game was played on Saturday May 17th and it represented our last league game. BC force had a nice start to the game with first half goals by Wheeler (Brandl assist), Tim Cowley (Tolooee assist) and Pocalyko (Orona assist). The second half effort was somewhat uninspired despite a late goal by Trevino (Hirsch assist).

Saturday April 19 at 11:00 AM, BC Force vs CO Fusion Mundial - Pleasant View #6     1-2

BCF went down early in this game. Fusion punshed the defensive lapse decisively. BCF had some good moments in the first half and created some opportunities off crosses by Pocalyko. The second half started with a nice Fusion finish off another BCF defensive mistake. A late goal by Brandl was not enough to earn the draw.

Saturday May 3 at 2:00 PM, BC Force at Arsenal Gold - FCSC #9     2-0

BCF scored a goal by Flint and was gifted an own goal to take a 2-0 half-time lead. The second was suspended early due to a thunder storm. We’ll take the win.

Saturday May 10 at 11:00 AM, BC Force vs Guadalajara Chivas - Pleasant View #6     3-1

This game was played on Friday May 9th to accommodate Chivas State Cup game. BC Force went down early on a penalty kick, yet rebounded very well on goals by Flint , Pocalyko and Wheeler.

March 21-23 San Diego Nomads Coaches Showcase

BC Force vs FC Diablo (CA)      0-1

FC Diablo came out very strong, playing high pressure all over the field. After some initial difficulties, BC Force became a bit more confident and was able to weather the storm, gain some possession and started playing more in the opponent’s half. A scoreless first half was promising for BC Force. In the second half, BC Force created several chances to get a goal, however, a defensive break down, and a strong finish, gave FC Diablo the 1-0 lead. BC Force had some opportunities, but FC Diablo deserved the win.

BC Force vs MVSC (CA)     1-2

BC Force had the early lead on a goal by Pocalyko, but was unable to hold on to the lead. MVSC came back with two goals to take the lead. BC Force threatened with several good oportunities, however, the post was in the way of the equalizer.

BC Force vs SPA Canada     2-0

Goals by Pocalyko and Wheeler provided the final score of 2-0, which, quite frankly should have been higher.

Although the team did not advance out of group play, the boys enjoyed their first experience at the Nomads Coaches Showcase. Side trips to San Diego State University, the University of San Diego, Mission Beach and Seaside Village topped off a good weekend in California.

April -

State Cup Schedule

BC Force vs Arsenal Royal     2-0

Two goals by Brandl gave BC Force the win in this year’s State Cup competition.

BC Force vs CO Edge Select     1-2

A tough loss for BCF. Although the team was behind 1-2 at the half, there was some decent ball movement and a couple of chances. The quality of play deteriated in the second half. The pressure of looking for the equalizer resulted in hurried play and too many balls played through the air.

BC Force vs Real CO National     0-0

BCF was unable to create any kind of rhythm and flow in this game. Real played with a lot of effort and energy, however, BCF had too many 50-50 balls, too many turn-overs, too much unnecessary running with the ball and poor choices on the ball, which resulted in a poorly played game without any intelligent play whatsoever.

BC Force vs Corinthians Red     7-0

BCF was finally able to put together a complete game. Good ball movement and the ability to put the ball in the net. Well done.

BC Force vs Storm Royal - State Cup Quarters     2-4

BCF probably played one of its best halves of the season which lead to a 2-0 half-time lead on goals by Brandl and Marshall. At the break we discussed the fact that Storm will come out blazing and to keep the 0 in the back for as long as possible, and weather the initial pressure. So much for half-time talks; Storm came out with renewed energy and upped the pressure, resulting in 2 goals in 5 minutes. Give credit to Storm, they did what they needed to do.
