(9/29) Colorado Real Red 2 - Barca 2
It’s not the first time that the Barca has a very slow start. The first 10 minutes are dominated by the home team that easily create few chances to score. Our defense feels under pressure (not well supported by the midfield) and esitates to clear the penalty box in the occasion of the first goal for Real. Slowly the Barca adjusts the positions in the field and the midfield is well controlled (Good job Torin). A quick counterattack by the Real finds our defense out of position. After less then 15 minutes We are down 2-0. But the team doesn’t feel down and reacts and starts playing. Ball on the ground and usage of the wings allowes the team a couple of chances before the end of the first half. Gregory and Callum are in the right spot at the right moment but their conclusions are unlucky. Finally Perry (good second half) finds Sean open on the left and the little lefty doesn’t miss the goal from there!!!!!!! 2 - 1 !!!!!!!!! The second half is another story. The Real is desperately defending like a boxer in the corner. It’s hard to count how many shots on goal. It’s just a matter of time when Allen release a strong right under the cross-bar. 2-2. The second half our team plays more with the heart than the brain. We play only in the center of the field not using the wings. The reserch of the goal push the team to carry the ball instead of moving it. The 3rd goal comes from a Matteo’s idea that serve Allen just in front of an empty net. The Coach cannot believe that Allen is called offside and the goal is not valid. We’ll see on monday night at the famous italian show "Il Processo di Biscardi" if there was really an offside. "Il Moviolone" (a super computer using hundreds of different camera angles) will reveal the mistery. The Real, in a smart way, uses any chance to let the clock run. In the second half the effective minutes of play are less than 20.
It’s a shame that after an early wake-up and quite a drive .... We come back to Boulder only with 1 point!
Let’s practice hard this week ’cause Vail is close.
