Myths vs. Realities
The Myths vs. The Reality
• The majority of students and parents believe talented high school athletes are actively recruited and offered "full-ride" sports scholarships by Division I college coaches. The reality is that only 2% of these athletes are "actively recruited" by leading college coaches, leaving the remaining 98% to "recruit themselves" (The Sports Source).

• Unlike in football, baseball and basketball, the majority of college soccer coaches do not rely on scholastic high school programs as a recruiting resource for potential collegiate student-athletes. (The Force recognizes and endorses scholastic high school soccer as an excellent opportunity to play for school spirit, develop new friendships and enjoy alternative team experiences).

• The US youth club soccer system provides an easier and economically efficient opportunity for college and professional coaches to scout and recruit soccer players. College soccer coaches rely on club soccer and its affiliated programs and events such as ODP, Super Y League, State Cup and showcase tournaments to watch and recruit potential NCAA / NAIA collegiate student-athletes.
