The Boulder County Force is proud of all its student-athletes that go to college. The following BCF student-athletes have recently committed to playing collegiate soccer at various NCAA and NAIA levels as of Aug. 20, 2010. This list will be updated throughout the year.

The following are profiles for each student-athlete.
GIRLS
Lauren Scharf (’09) - Harding University (Arkansas) - Lauren is a midfielder and forward from Superior, signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent join the Harding University women’s soccer team for the 2009 season. Harding is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Gulf South Conference. Sharf traveled to Sweden and Spain with her U16 Boulder County Force team, coached by Heather Solar. Lauren finished her youth soccer career with the John Welsch’s U18 Red team last fall. Scharf is a three-time Academic All-State honoree at Monarch High School. She helped lead her high school team to the Colorado Class 5A state playoffs in 2007.
Chelsea Schooler (’09) - Whitworth University (Washington) - Chelsea is a midfielder from Boulder. She played for the Boulder County Force under coaches Eliu Hernandez and Hardy Kalisher. Chelsea was a member of the 2009 Fairview High School varisty team that won the Front Range League and reached the 5A State Semi-Finals.
Cat Whitfield (’09) – Humboldt State University (California) - Cat is a midfielder from Lafayette, will be playing NCAA Division II soccer for the Jacks. Whitfield was the Boulder County Force U17 and U18 MVP, leading her teams in goals and assists. “Cat is a very aggressive and skilled player,” Humbolt State Head Coach, Andy Cumbo said. “She has been working very hard this past year and she is eager to be a Lumberjack. There is no doubt she will be a solid player with her current work ethic and commitment level.” At Centaurus High School, Whitfield was a four year starter and was a two-time all-league selection.
Ali Mullin (’10) – Brown University (Rhode Island) – Ali is a midfielder from Boulder has made an early commitment to Brown University and will play NCAA Division I soccer in the Ivy League. Ali is currently a junior at Fairview High School and has been a varsity players since her freshman year. Mullin joined the Boulder County Force as U9 developmental player. Next fall 2009, Mullin will continue with the club, playing for the Boulder County Force U18s, coached by Heather Solar.
Carys Murphy (’10) - Emory College (Georgia) - Carys has committed to playing for Emory University in Atlanta Georgia (NCAA Division III). Carys joined the Boulder County Force as a U14 player and immediately made a big impact on the Red team as a central midfielder and outside defender. Using her excellent ball control and vision she successfully gets forward to support the attack and provide with to the field as an outside midfielder. Carys versitile player who is capable of successfully playing many positions. Carys has played for the Colorado State ODP team and was a four year varsity standout for Alexander Dawson High School.
Molly McGuigan (’10) – West Point Academy (New York) – Molly is a center defender from Boulder has made an early commitment to West Point Academy where she will play NCAA Division I soccer. McGuigan has been a standout student-athlete for the Boulder County Force since moving to Boulder in her U14 season. At Fairview High School she was an All-Conference selection her freshmen and sophomore year. Next fall 2009, McGuigan will be playing for the Boulder County Force U18s, coached by Heather Solar.
Annie Stuller (’10) - University of Colorado (Colorado) - Annie a forward from Boulder who has committed to play NCAA Division I soccer for Bill Hempen at the University of Colorado. Stuller is a member of the Colorado ODP team and began playing for the Boulder County Force at U9 in the Developmental Program. She played for BCF coaches John Welsch, Hardy Kalisher and Heather Solar. Stuller has been a standout varsity player for Fairview high school since her freshmen year and is currently the programs leading goal scorer. Stuller also plays summer soccer in the W-League (women’s semi-professional league).
Anna Evans (’10) - Colorado School of Mines (Colorado) - Anna as committed to play college soccer at the prestigious Colorado School of Mines (NCAA Division I) after receiving recruiting offers from NCAA Division I and II programs. Anna is one of the most technically gifted players to wear a the BCF uniform in recent years. She possess excellent ball control skills and has a very high soccer IQ. Anna joined the Force as a U15 Red team player and went on to play for the Colorado State ODP team and played for coaches Heather Solar, Jeff Thayer, Hardy Kalisher and Eliu Hernandez. Anna played her prep soccer at Arvada West High School.
Cassidy Larson (’10) - University of Denver (Colorado) - Cassidy has committed to play soccer at the University of Denver (NCAA Division I) where she is looking to make a big impact. Cassidy is a long time BCF player and has excelled as both an attacking wing player and in recent seasons as an outside defender. Cassidy played for BCF coaches Heather Solar, Jeff Thayer, Hardy Kalisher and Eliu Hernandez. Cassidy is a four year starter for Fairview High School’s varsity team.
Bailey Gabel (’10) - CSU-Pueblo (Colorado) - Bailey will be play NCAA Division II soccer at CSU Pueblo. Bailey was a standout midfielder and forward for the Boulder County Force playing for coach John Welsch, Dianne Locatelli. As a local prep player Bailey played for 4A powerhouse Broomfield High School.
Anna Dozela (’10) - Butler University (Indiana) Anna Dolezal will be playing NCAA Division I soccer at Butler University. She played for coach Dianne Locatelli on the Boulder County Force U18 Red II team. Anna was three-year varsity player at Mountain Range High School in Westminster where she earned all-conference honors and led Mountain Range team to two league championships and a 35-9-1 record. Dolezal scored 56 points (22g-12a) in her high school career.
Jenna Brennan (’11) - University of Miami (Florida) - Jenna committed to the University of Miami and will play her college soccer in the prestigious ACC conference. Jenna joined the Force as a U15 player in the fall of 2008 and will continue with the Club through until she leaves for Miami. As one of the top goalkeepers in Colorado, she was also recruited by Texas A&M, UC Berkeley, Louisville and Boston University. Jenna is a very motivated and coachable player who is a great teammate. Jenna has played for Boulder County Force coaches Adam Hayes, Eliu Hernandez, Stephanie Dunn and Heather Solar.
BOYS
Tyler Auday – (’09) – Flagler College (Florida) – a midfielder from Superior, CO Auday will be playing NAIA soccer for Flagler College in Florida where he spent much of his youth attending soccer camp in the summer. Auday began playing for the Boulder County Force in the U10 Developmental program and is completing his youth soccer career at U17 with coach Hardy Kalisher. Auday was a three-year varsity player at Monarch High School and helped his team to the 2008 state play-offs.
Paul Benz - (’10) - St. Olaf (Minnestota) - Paul has been a standout player for the Boulder County Force since joing the club as a developmental player. Paul will be joining BCF alumni Andy Cowley and Tim Cowley at St. Olaf this fall. Paul Benz played his club soccer for Jeff Frykholm, John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Paul was a two year starter for Fairview High School and reached the Colorado 5A Quarter-Finals in 2008 and 2009. Paul brings excellent athleticism and competitive spirit to the college level.
Walter Bertini - (’10) - Metro State University (Colorado) - Walter had a breakout year as a junior/U17 player to come to the forefront of the Colorado boys soccer recruiting class. Pursued by NCAA Division I and II schools, Walter decided to stay local and join BCF alumn and Kevin Pocalyko (’09) at Metro State University -- where he will play in one of the toughest NCAA Division II conferences in the United States. A powerful 6’3" forward/wing player, Walter imposes his will on the game is a pure goal scorere. Coach Ken Parson at Metro State expects Walter to make an immediate impact for his program. Walter was a high school All-State, All-Region and All-Conference player at Boulder High School.
Andy Cowley (’09) - St. Olaf (Minnestota) - defender from Boulder, CO and Boulder County Force player since U11. Andy was strong physical player who later developed into a technical defender. Andy was a 1st Team All-Confeence player at Fairview High School and anchored it’s very successful defense. Andy worked his way up the BCF development pyramid as a 4th team, then 2nd team and then Red team player. Andy Cowley played under BCF coaches John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Andy played in Sweden and Spain where his U16 team finished third in the Copa Cataluyna. Andy played summer soccer for the BCF U16 Super Y League team.
Tim Cowley (’09) - St. Olaf - midfielder from Boulder, CO and Boulder County Force player since U11. Tim an athletic midfielder capable or playing any position on the field. Tim made a big impact as a starting midfielder for Fairview High School. Tim Cowley played under BCF coaches John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Tim played in Sweden and Spain where his U16 team finished third in the Copa Cataluyna. Tim played summer soccer for the BCF U16 Super Y League team.
Aaron Dela Cruz (’10) - Otero Junior College (Colorado) from Boulder, CO, Aaron is an attacking player who is is known for playing an entertaining and creative style of soccer. Aaron was actually a late starter to soccer but he’s had control of the ball ever since. Younger and older players have been known to stop and watch Aaron at practices just to be entertained and inspired. Aaron is capable of scoring brilliant goals, successfully taking on one, two, three even four defenders on a time and setting up his teammates with pursition passes. Aaron has selected to the ’91 Region IV ODP Pool and Colorado State ODP team. In 2008, Aaron participated in the MLS U17 Cup with the Colorado Rapids. He has been a standout player with the Force under coaches, Hardy Kalisher, Eliu Hernandez and Steve Lepper. Aaron was a four year varsity starter for Fairview High School leading the team to the 2008 and 2009 5A Quarter-Finals.
Alex Dickerson (’09) - Cal State East Bay (California) - midfielder from Boulder, CO and a Boulder County Force player since U9. Alex as played a big role on the BCF Red teams since U11 and will be looking to play right away at Cal State East Bay, a NCAA Division II program, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alex played under BCF coaches, John Welsch, Hardy Kalisher, Eliu Hernandez and Steve Lepper. Alex was a two year varsity starter at Fairview High School and helped lead the Knights to the 5A Colorado State Play-off Quarter-Finals in 2008. In 2007, Alex played in the Rocky Mountain Division of Super Y League. He also played internationally at the Helsinki Cup in Finland in the summer of his U16 year. Alex was also recruited to play collegiate soccer in Texas.
Andrew Flint (’10) - Whitworth University (Washington) - a midfielder from Boulder, CO and a Boulder County Force player since U11, Andrew collected more honors and awards for his hardwork at every practice and game than any other BCF player in the last 10 years. That work ethic helped Andrew as a 3 year varsity starter, Co-Captain and an All-Conference player at Boulder High School. In his senior year he made the move from midfielder to defender because that’s what his team needed. From center back he had 7 assists in 18 games and was named to the Daily Camera All-Region 1st Team. At the Boulder County Force, Andrew played for coaches John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Andrew was also a varsity basketball player and 1st Team Academic All-State honoree. As a U16 Andrew played in Spain and Sweden as part of the BCF Europe tour.
Max Jaffee (’10) - San Francisco State University (California) - a winger from Boulder, CO, Max began playing with the Boulder County Force as U8. Possessing exceptional quickness, agility and 1 vs. 1 skills, Max became one of the most respected wingers in Colorado youth. Max played under BCF coaches, Hardy Kalisher, Eliu Hernandez and John Welsch. Over the past two years Max has played in the USSF Developmental Academy with the Colorado Rapids U18 team. Max will be putting on the BCF uniform again with the BCF U19 boys at the 2010 Rocky Mountain Cup. Max played on the Colorado State ODP team. As a four year varsity starter, Max Jaffee helped lead Boulder High to four consecutive 5A State-Playoff appearances and a #2 Colorado ranking. Max is the only Boulder High player to have played on a playoff team each of his four years of high school.
Tim Jozwiak (’10) - Saint Lawrence (New York) - a midfielder from Boulder, CO and a Boulder County Force player since U9, Tim will be continuing a rich tradition of BCF players competing in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Saint Lawrence is consistently one of the top NCAA DIII programs in the country. As a BCF youth, Tim was also a regular on the Colorado ’92 ODP team. Tim played the majority his BCF soccer with coach Jeff Frykholm. As a prep player, Tim played for his father and BCF Hall of Famer, Stan Jozwiak at Fairview High School were he was a all-conference player and started in the a midfield that reached the Colorado High School 5A Quater-finals in 2008 and 2009.
Jeff Hirsch – (’09) – Carleton College (Minnesota) – a midfielder from Boulder, CO Hirsch is expected to play role in Carleton College’s 2009 run at a NCAA DIII National Title. Carleton College just finished their best season in their program’s history. They achieved a high season ranking of #7 in the nation. They lost to Middlebury in the 3rd round of NCAA Championships. Hirsch began playing for the Boulder County Force as U9 Development program Jeff Hirsch played his club soccer at the Boulder County Force from U9-U17 playing mostly under coach John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Hirsch is currently a starter for the Colorado Rapids U18 team that competes in the United State Soccer Federation Developmental Academy. Jeff was a 3 year varsity starter Boulder High, All-Conference and Academic All-State 1st Team Selection.
Adam Hinkelman (’09) – Regis University (Colorado) – defender from Boulder, CO will be playing NCAA Division II soccer at Regis this fall and has been in the Boulder County Force since U9 Developmental program. Adam was a starting defender for the Colorado ODP team and attended the Super Y League National ODP Camp in Florida. Hinkelman played in Sweden and Spain where his U16 team finished third in the Copa Cataluyna. As a senior at Boulder High School, Adam was the second BCF player ever name to the Rocky Mountain News/Denver Post All-Colorado team which honors the state’s top 11 high school players. Hinkelman was named to the 2008 ESPN Rise Magazine All-Region Colorado team and was a 1st Team All-State selection by the Colorado High School Coaches Association. He was a three time all-conference player.
Devin Kuh (’09) – Whitman College (Washington) – a goalkeeper from Boulder, CO, will be playing in the Northwest Conference and is an NCAA Division III program on the rise with a 2008 overall record of 11-2-7. Kuh played his club soccer with the Boulder County Force soccer club from U9-U18. After Devin’s junior year he was invited to attend the Super Y League National ODP Camp in Florida. Kuh played in Sweden and Spain where his U16 team finished third in the Copa Cataluyna. Kuh finished is high school career as Boulder High’s most honored goalkeeper in the program’s 29 year history with All-State honors.
Carlos Mendez (’10) - Metro State University (Colorado) - Carlos Mendez is a left-footed forward/midfielder from Broomfield, CO. Carlos decided to finish his club soccer career with the Boulder County Force U18 Red because he wanted to be apart of a dedicated group of U18 players that play quality soccer. Carlos joined the back-to-back Elite league champions U18 Red after playing for the Colorado Rapids Developmental Academy team. Prior to joining the Boulder County Force, Carlos won state titles with his former club team and was a high scoring starter for 4A powerhouse Broomfield High School.
Joey Morales – (’09) – Waldorf College (Iowa) – a forward from Northglenn, CO, will be playing NAIA soccer this fall following his U18 season with the Boulder County Force. Morales was a member of the Colorado ODP team and played for BCF staff coach Hardy Kalisher and John Welsch. Morales was a standout all-conference prep player for Mountain Range High School.
Jose Moreno (’10) - Lincoln Memorial University (Tennessee) - a defender from Erie, CO will be playing NCAA Division II soccer next fall. Jose Moreno played for coach Hardy Kalisher as a U16 Red player where he anchored the left back position in the team run to the Elite III league title. Coach Kalisher recommended Jose to the Colorado Rapids Developmental Academy program after he represented the BCF on the Rapids U17 MLS Cup select team. As a Rapids D.A. player, Jose has started in nearly every game. Jose maintains his close connection with his Boulder County Force coaches and teammates and participates in BCF off-season training programs. Jose was an All-State player and four year starter under former BCF Coach, Doug London at Alexander Dawson High School.
Kevin Pocalyko (’09) – Metro State University (Colorado) - a midfielder/winger from Longmont, CO and a Boulder County Force standout since U14, Pocalyko will be looking to make an impact on the NCAA Division II nationally ranked Roadrunners. Pocalyko played under BCF coaches, John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Pocalyko was a member of the Colorado ODP team and an All-State player for Longmont High School. While playing for Longmont, Pocalyko received numerous honors including being named the Times Call Player of the Year in 2007. All-Conference and All-Region. Pocalyko played in Sweden and Spain where his U16 team finished third in the Copa Cataluyna.
Corbin Sipfle (’10) - Western Nebraska CC (Nebraska) - a winger/midfielder from Longmont, CO and a Boulder County Force standout since U9, Corbin will be looking to gain valuable experience while playing community college soccer in Nebraska. Corbin was a Red team player at U11 and was known throughout the league as the toughest, hardest working little guy on the field. He led the U12 and U13 Red team in goals. At U15 Corbin took a break from soccer. He returned to soccer and played two years on the BCF second level competitive team before being asked to return to the Red team at U17. As a U17 he helped lead the BCF Red to their second consecutive Elite league Championship title, scoring several game winning goals on route to an undefeated U17 Elite League season. Corbin was the anchor of the Skyline High School offense since his sophomore year. He is a three time all-conference player, Times Call All-Area and Daily Camera All-Region selection. Corbin played for BCF coaches Hardy Kalisher, Eliu Hernandez, John Welsch and Keith Malang.
Garrett Spenst (’10) - San Francisco Academy of Arts (California) - goalkeeper from Boulder, Colorado, Garrett moved back to Colorado after living in Idaho for a few years for his U18/Senior year. A gifted athlete, Garrett has shared goalkeeping duties on the BCF U18 Red team that has a strong tradition of success at the Elite and Super League levels. Garrett will be looking to secure the starting goalkeeper position on the SF Academy of Arts NCAA Division II team. As a senior at Boulder High School, Garrett posted a sub 1.0 goals against average and made 12 saves in the 2nd round playoff game win the put the BHS program in the 2009 state playoff quarterfinals.
Curtis Stecyk (’10) - Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey) - a midfielder from Niwot, CO. Curtis has anchored the Boulder County Force U18 Red midfield since joining the club as U16. Curtis will be pursuing a degree in engineering at the presitigious Stevens Institute of Technology in Honoken, New Jersey while also representing the Ducks on the soccer field. Stevens is consistently one of the top 10 NCAA DIII programs in the US. Curtis is a gifted athlete and a rare penalty box-to-penalty box midfielder, capable of scoring highlight reel goals or being the midfield enforcer. Curtis spend part of the past two summers playing for the Colorado Rapids U17 teams in the MLS U17 Cup and chose to finish his youth career with the Boulder County Force dispite offers to play in the USSF Developmental Academy. Curtis has played for BCF coaches Hardy Kalisher and Eliu Hernandez. In 2009, Curtis helped lead Niwot High School to their first ever 4A State championship title and earn 4A All-State, Daily Camera All-Region, honors. Curtis was a long time member of the Colorado ’92 ODP team.
Ben Thomson – (’09) – Colorado School of Mines (Colorado) – a goalkeeper from Erie, CO who will be playing NCAA Division II soccer for the Orediggers. Ben has been a Boulder County Force player since his freshman year of high school. Thomson played under BCF coach Welsch and Steve Lepper. At Centaurus High School Thomson was an All-State player and helped lead the Warrior to the State Playoffs.
Wes Trevino (’09) - University of Massachusetts Boston - a forward and defender from Superior, CO, Wes was a dominating forward with both the Boulder County Force and Fairview High School. Wes will continue to play soccer at the next level and will look to make an impact in the competitive east coast NCAA DIII region. Wes played under BCF coaches John Welsch and Hardy Kalisher. Wes helped lead the FHS Knights to the 5A Colorado State Play-off Quarter-Finals in 2008 and was Daily Camera All-Region 2nd Team, All-Front Range League 1st Team. During Wes’s U16 year he played in Spain and Sweden where he led the BCF U16 Red in goals and assists.
