College Commitments - Class of 2008
Updated as Force seniors announce their commitments to collegiate soccer programs.
TIM SMITH COMMITS TO AIR FORCE ACADEMY
Force: Tim Smith committed to the Air Force Academy (NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer) after considering several prestigious universities. Tim played club soccer with the Boulder County Force from U10-U18. He was coached by Josh Lipton, Herschel Goldberg, John Welsch, Steve Lepper, Rob Johnson, and Hardy Kalisher. In 2006, Tim helped lead the Force U16 Red team to the Colorado State Cup quarter-finals and was named team MVP. Tim received the 2007 Outstanding Young Referee Award. Tim was named to the ODP State Pool in 2006.
Prep: Tim played his high school soccer at Boulder High School. Tim he earn three varsity letters following his first season on the freshmen team. Tim was selected 2007 1st Team All-State (5A), two-time Daily Camera All-Region 1st Team, two-time 1st Team All-Centennial League, two-year varsity team co-captain, and was instrumental in leading the 2007 Panthers to a 2nd place finish in Centennial League and the second round of the Colorado State Playoffs. Tim is a three time 1st Team Academy All-State selection, National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist, National Honor Society and has a 4.3 GPA.
The Force wishes Tim the best as a Falcon next fall.
SEAN RICE COMMITS TO UNIVERSITY OF PUGET SOUND
Force: Sean Rice committed to one of the top NCAA NCAA Division III programs in the West. The nationally ranked Loggers are coming of one of their best seasons ever and Sean is looking to make an impact as a freshman. Sean played his entire youth soccer career with the Boulder County Force from U10-U18. Sean was coached by Josh Lipton, Herschel Goldberg, John Welsch, Steve Lepper, Rob Johnson, and Hardy Kalisher. A tireless worker with quickness and skill, Sean played in the 2006 State Cup Quarter-finals and was a member of the Colorado 2006 ODP State Pool.
Prep: Sean played his high school soccer at Boulder High School where he was a three year varsity starter. Sean was co-captain of the varsity team and an All-Centennial League and Daily Camera All-Region honorable mention selection. As the starting outside right defender, Sean lead the Panther defense to two consecutive playoffs appearances.
